Welcome to Edgewood Baptist. Our children's ministry exists to assist our church in accomplishing it's mission to families, our community, and to the world. We would love nothing more than to partner with your family as you seek to fulfill God's plan for your lives. We meet every Sunday and Wednesday to worship God and spend time together, and we’d love to have you join us!
The Bible clearly and consistently gives the primary responsibility for teaching and discipling children to their parents (Dt. 4:9, 6:2,4-9,21; Ps. 78:1-7; Prv. 22:6; Eph. 6:4; 1 Thess. 2:11-12). Our nursery, preschool, and elementary programs can certainly help reaffirm what parents are teaching, but we will always fall short if we are the primary influence on spiritual formation. With this in mind, the primary role of the children’s ministry is to assist parents in discipling their children. We want our children's ministry to be held to the highest standard by:
- Taking your child’s safety seriously.
We are committed to providing a safe environment by the way we recruit and train our teachers and secure our children’s wing.
- Taking your child’s Bible education seriously.
We are committed to helping expand your child’s vision of God with the same degree of passion as demonstrated in the youth and adult education ministries.
- Taking your child seriously.
We value children as much as we value every other age group. Our prayer is that God will work at Edgewood in such a way that we always welcome, teach, minister, love, and value children because our Lord did (Mark 10:13-16).
Here is some information about our Children's Ministry Programs!
Children are always welcome to stay for the entire worship service on Sunday mornings, but there are also children’s ministryopportunites available.
For babies or toddlers there is a nursery available where they can learn about Jesus all morning. For older children, there will be a children'sworship service geared specifically for them. Here children will encounter Jesus through creative Bible teaching, worship songs, and high energy games. The Children's Worship room is located down the left hallway when exiting the sanctuary.
CIA (Children In Action) on Wednesday's
Wednesday nights are family nights at EBC. During the school year the night begins at 5:30 with aFamily Dinner in the fellowship hall.
The children’s ministry on Wednesday nights starts at 6:30 with a time of music and worship upstairs in the Children's Worship room. At 7:00, school age kids transition to CIA—Children In Action. Children will learn about Jesus, how he wants us to live, and what the Bible says about their lives.
For children not yet in school we have a special club called Mission Friends with lots of activities and lessons from the Bible that meets in room 202 of the children's wing.
